In 2023, AQMNI embarked on the East Palmdale Mural Project, a year long initiative designed not only to beautify the urban landscape but also to engage local youth and community members in meaningful artistic expression. Over six months, six students were immersed in a comprehensive program that melded professional mural techniques with art therapy. The students were actively involved in every step of the mural creation process, from client meetings with local businesses to canvassing the community for input on the artworks, and even presenting their ideas and plans to local government officials at city hall. This real-world experience not only honed their artistic abilities but also taught them valuable lessons in civic engagement and professional communication.
